SCH has no mirror matches so we have a lot of extra rules for character select:
Both players must announce which character they want to play upon entering Character Select. If both players wish to play the same character, play RPS to decide who gets to pick that character — loser must pick another character. In the event that RPS is not feasible, another method, such as coin flip or dice call, will be used instead.
The winning player of a game must pick the character they won the previous game with. The losing player may opt to pick a different character, as well as a different stage should they choose to do so. The losing player may opt to pick the winner’s character going into the next game. In the event of this, both players play RPS (or a suitable alternative).
If the initiating player wins this game of RPS, the defending player must pick a new character, but the initiating player forfeits their right to pick the stage to the defending player. If the initiating player loses the game of RPS, they forfeit the right to pick both a new character and a new stage, and the stage must be a random pick.

- DRAW: In the event of a tied Match declared by a “Draw” or “Double K.O.” on the Game screen, the Match will not be scored and both Players will replay the tied Match with the same character and stage selections.
- MATCH DISRUPTIONS: In the event of a Player disruption caused by pausing or disconnecting a controller (intentionally or accidentally), the Player who caused the disruption will forfeit the current round of the Match. If a Match Disruption occurs that is out of control of the Players, such as a power failure or Bloom Glitch, the Tournament Organizer shall order to restart the Match.
- CONTROLLERS: It is each Players responsibility to know how to pair their controller with Xbox Series. Players are responsible for bringing a functional controller equipped with correct wire/cable (versus a charging only cable). Converters will be provided at Tournament Setups (Brook Wingman XB3/XB1/XB2 or Mayflash MagicX). If using a converter, plug in controller and wait 1-2 seconds before use.
## ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Casual setups for Free Play will be available (with converters) on Tournament Day and if there is sufficient space (and VG/FFXVII Staff allows), 1-2 casual setups may be available (with converters) for free play during pools. Any questions or concerns about converters or controllers, DM Ke11yAnn - I may have XB3, XB1, XB2, and MayFlash Magic X converters on hand for use at setups, please don't hesitate to ask.
